Oil on the water spotted by the cameras already pointed at it.
The environmental team wants two things: to know the moment oil shows on the water, and a weekly report of what was seen against what was in the tanks.
Where it saves money.
Not measured yet. The savings come from catching oil early: a smaller clean-up and a quicker, cleaner report to the regulator. We will publish the number after the trial.
Spotted by eye, after the fact.
The cameras were there for security, not for watching the water. The camera network has no internet, on purpose.
A digital twin first. Then watch the water.
We rebuilt the outfall in 3D from the plant drawings and marked the area of water to watch, checked against the plant's own camera frames.
An area of water is marked in each camera's view.
Each frame of that area is checked for an oil sheen. If one shows, a message goes out with the picture.
Every alert is set against the tank records in a weekly report.
Pass or fail on the weekly report, agreed before we start.
A record the environmental team can show.
A message with the picture the moment oil shows. A weekly page: what was seen, what was in the tanks, and which alerts were right.
Judged on the report, not on the number of alerts.

Tell us the check in one sentence. We set it up on the cameras you already have. You judge it on the record.
